Howdy y’all

This past week or so has been a whirlwind and we just wanted to through a quick lil update on here, in addition to IG.

Last week, Kelley and I went down to Red River Gorge to unplug and celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary! It was so nice to be away and alone with each other for a few days. Scariest thing that happened was that I *almost* crushed a cute orange lizard when I fell while exploring. (The lizard was fine—we checked—just spooked it a lil).

We also are less than a week out from the 3rd Midwest Friends Fest. This is our third year being involved and our second year with a stage. The Start Today Stage is the Lounge of Southgate House Revival again this year. The stage is loaded with handpicked bands by us for 2 days straight. It is absolutely going to rip and it’s going to be hard to check out the other bands playing other stages throughout the day for me lol. Another really cool update that you may have seen if you follow our socials but, this year Sweet Cheetah, MWFF, Sofaburn Inc, and Lo Fi City partner to help organize an all MWFF band compilation cd!!! It features 20 bands all playing the fest mastered by Mike at Candyland Recording Studios. “Start Today/Start With You” will be released physically and digitally via BandCamp on 5/28. All proceeds go directly to us and will help us continue to serve our community. As a reminder we have not used any government assisted grants and are 100% crowd/self funded. So literally any cent you give us helps in a gigantic way.

We are at a few shows prior to the fest starting Thursday. Make sure to stop by SGHR on Sunday 5/24 with Orlando running the table for Leisure Hour & our new friends in Latchkey Kids, Equipment, and local pals, Saving Them in the Revival Room.

Tuesday 5/26- Bev will be running the table for Liquid Mike, PoNy, and Parking Lot also at SGHR in the Revival Room.

Then Thursday-Saturday find us in the lounge at the Start Today Stage for Midwest Friends Fest!! All familiar faces you have seen throughout the year will be present and eager to talk about harm reduction with you!! Stop by and see us!

Lastly, I just got done doing a live news segment on Fox19 to highlight STHR’s involvement with MWFF. I was p nervous, but I’m told I did great. (Que Mitch Hedberg joke). If I find a clip I will upload it everywhere.
